It’s no secret that one of my absolute favorite things about the whole Disney universe is the lessons we can learn from these stories. Our favorite Disney quotes have a lot of relevance to every day situations. Not a day passes when I don’t find myself quoting my favorite characters. When I’m facing a tough decision, feeling down, after failures and after successes, these Disney quotes have both comforted and guided me. After realizing the importance of these quotes to my everyday life, I decided to put my design degree to work creating Disney quotes with illustrations to share on my instagram. I thought it would be fun to share some of them here, along with how you can apply them to daily life!
Hopefully this brings you a bit of joy! Thanks so much for reading!
1. There's always another way!
This reminder is so important in those moments where we feel like we’ve tried and tried and aren’t getting anywhere. I feel like giving up ALL the time. But Dory is right. There’s always another way to do something. You can do it, maybe you just need to find a new way of going about it.
2. Have courage and be kind.
Not sure what to do next? Not sure which choice to make? Keep this friendly reminder from Cinderella top of mind. Have courage and be kind is such a classic Disney quote because it’s so helpful. I think of this multiple times a day to remind myself to be kind to others in every interaction.
3. All you need is a chance to try!
We tend to think we can’t do something before we even try! How do you know you can’t until you try? Also, it takes time to be good at anything. Don’t let fear of failure stop you from experiencing the world. It’s far less embarrassing to try and fail than it is to never try at all.
4. Good things are sure to come your way!
All you can do is your best! If you’ve done that, then you have nothing to worry about. I sometimes feel guilty for not doing enough or not doing enough fast enough, but the truth is, I’m doing my best! Sometimes that means resting when I need to rest, having fun when I need a break, and working hard on everything I create!
5. I've got a dream!
Everyone has a dream they’re chasing. This quote from Rapunzel helps me remember that most people are really just trying their best. Like Rapunzel discovers at the Snuggly Duckling, you probably have more in common with other people than you think. I try to keep this in mind when I’m in a conflict. Giving people the benefit of the doubt isn’t just helpful to them, it’s better for you too. It feels much better to assume that everyone’s trying their best than to assume the worst.
